NRM York 9 Sept 2013 Churchward GWR Swindon Class 3700 4-4-0 No. 3717 'City of Truro', originally No. 3440. Built 1903, withdrawn in 1931 but deemed worthy of preservation due to its being contender for the first steam loco to top 100 mph. Returned to service on main lines in 1957 but withdrawn again 4 years later.
